Language Information


Dyola or Jola has about 500,000 speakers on either side of the lower Casamance river, which reaches the Atlantic in southern Senegal. It belongs to the Atlantic group of Niger Congo languages, and is one of the regional official languages of Senegal. Speakers call themselves Kuyolak.

Dyola is spoken/used in the following countries:
Gambia, Senegal.
