Language Family Family: Indo-European One day a dog who had taken a piece of meat from a butcher shop set off for home. On the way he came to a large river. Over the river there was a bridge. While running across the bridge the dog looked down and saw his reflection in the river. Thinking that this was another dog with a piece of meat in its mouth, he set out to take it for himself. When he barked the meat fell from his mouth into the water. Not seeing the meat in the mouth of the dog reflected in the water, he remembered the meat which he himself had been holding. But no matter what he did, he could not find the piece of meat that had fallen into the water. |
