In teaching the spoken words and phrases of Arabic, the text and CDs provide a variety of exercises aimed at developing all skills: reading, listening, writing, speaking, and cultural understanding. In order to teach Arabic as used by Arabs and the social aspects of Arab culture, this DVD is especially helpful in introducing the student to the colloquial dialect and to some of the cultural characteristics of the DVD's setting, Cairo, home to the most widely spoken and understood dialect in the Arabic-speaking world.
