Amuesha
Language Information
Amuesha language (endonymously known as Yanesha' or Yaneshac¨h, meaning "we the people") is an indigenous language native exclusively to the country of Peru.
The language is tightly concentrated around regional river systems, particularly along the upper reaches of the Pachitea, Perené, Palcazu, and Pichis rivers.
Quechua (including dozens of verb roots) as well as neighboring Kampa and Panoan languages. Because of this hybrid nature, linguists sometimes refer to it as a "Middle Andean" language.
