"Andean-Equatorial" is a major proposed macro-phylum (or language stock) introduced by linguist Joseph Greenberg in his controversial 1987 classification of Indigenous languages of the Americas. It is not a single language, but rather a massive grouping of approximately 250 individual languages spread across South America
