Cape Verde Creole (Kabuverdianu) is spoken in Cape Verde and by large Cape Verdean communities in Portugal and the United States (especially Massachusetts and Rhode Island).
It is a Portuguese-based creole, probably the oldest living creole language, which developed in the 15th and 16th centuries. It has about 1 million speakers.
