Cappadocian Greek was spoken in central Anatolia (Turkey) until 1923, when its speakers were moved to Greece in the population exchange between Greece and Turkey.
It was a Greek dialect with a strong Turkish influence. It was thought to be extinct until linguists found remaining speakers in northern Greece in 2005.
