Language Information

Ganda, also known as Luganda, is the most important language of Uganda, in East Africa. Its speakers, the Baganda, live principally in the former kingdom of Buganda, which is located in the southern region and includes the capital city of Kampala. They number about 3 million, or 20 percent of the country's population. Ganda is another of the Bantu languages.

Abantu bazaalibwa nga balina eddembe n'obuyinza ebyenkanankana, batondebwa nga balina amagezi era nga basobola okwawula ekirungi n'ekibi bwebatyo, buli omu agwana okuyisa munne nga muganda we.

English translation

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
