Hupa

Hupa is spoken in the United States, in the Hoopa Valley of northwestern California along the Trinity River, on the Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation.
Hupa belongs to the Pacific Coast branch of the Athapaskan family and is distantly related to Navajo and Apache. It is severely endangered, with only a very few elderly first-language speakers, but the tribe teaches it in local schools and has produced a dictionary and teaching materials.
