Tahltan is spoken in Canada, in northwestern British Columbia, in the communities of Telegraph Creek, Dease Lake, and Iskut along the Stikine River.
Tahltan is a Northern Athapaskan language closely related to Kaska and Tagish. It is critically endangered, with very few fluent speakers left, but the Tahltan Nation runs language programs, including a mentor-apprentice program, to pass it on to younger people.
