Language Information

Luganda (Ganda) is spoken in Uganda, mainly in the central Buganda region around Kampala and Lake Victoria.
Luganda is a Bantu language and the most widely spoken African language of Uganda, with about 6 million native speakers and many more second-language speakers. It is the language of the Baganda, whose Kingdom of Buganda was the most powerful state in the region in the 19th century. It is written in the Roman alphabet and is widely used in radio, newspapers, and business.

English translation

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
