Clallam (Klallam) is spoken in the United States, on the northern Olympic Peninsula of Washington State, in the Lower Elwha, Jamestown, and Port Gamble communities, and formerly on southern Vancouver Island in Canada.
Clallam is a Coast Salish language. Its last native speaker, Hazel Sampson, died in 2014. The Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe has published a dictionary and teaches it in local schools, where it is offered to high school students as a world language.
