Language Information

Kinyarwanda is spoken in Rwanda, where it is the national language and is spoken by nearly the entire population, and in neighboring parts of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, and Tanzania.
Kinyarwanda is a Bantu language with about 12 to 14 million speakers. It is mutually intelligible with Kirundi of Burundi, and they are often treated as dialects of one language. It is a tonal language and is written in the Roman alphabet.

English translation

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
