Language Information
The Vadstena Bracteate is a gold medallion found in 1774 at Vadstena in southern Sweden. It is one of the earliest objects bearing a listing of the runic alphabet.
It dates to about the 6th century A.D. and shows the 24 runes of the Elder Futhark divided into three groups of eight (called aettir). The original was lost in the 1930s, but copies and casts survive.
