Language Information
The Breza Futhark is a runic alphabet inscription found in 1940 on a stone pillar in a medieval basilica at Breza, near Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It dates to about the 6th century A.D. and is thought to have been carved by Ostrogoths or other Germanic people living in the Balkans at the time. It is one of the few complete or near-complete listings of the Elder Futhark runes and the only one found in southeastern Europe.
