Luvian (Luwian) was spoken in ancient southern and western Anatolia (Turkey) and northern Syria. It is extinct.
Luvian was an Anatolian language related to Hittite. It was written both in cuneiform and in its own hieroglyphic script, which continued to be used by the Neo-Hittite states of Syria and southeastern Turkey until about 700 B.C.
