Language Information

Greenlandic (Kalaallisut) is spoken in Greenland, where it is the sole official language, and by Greenlanders in Denmark.
Greenlandic is an Inuit language of the Eskimo-Aleut family, closely related to Inuktitut in Canada. It has about 57,000 speakers, the largest number of any Eskimo-Aleut language. It is polysynthetic, building very long words from a root with many suffixes, and it is written in the Roman alphabet.
