Hijazi (Hejazi) Arabic is spoken in western Saudi Arabia, in the Hejaz region, including the cities of Jeddah, Mecca, Medina, and Taif.
Hijazi is a dialect of Arabic with about 10 million or more speakers. Because Mecca and Medina draw pilgrims from all over the world, urban Hijazi has absorbed words from many languages. It is one of the most widely understood dialects of the Arabian Peninsula.
