Adamawa

The Adamawa group is not a single language, but rather a cluster of 80 to 90 distinct languages scattered across the Adamawa Plateau in Central Africa.Speaker Population: Collectively, they are spoken by roughly 1.5 million people. Most of these individual languages are quite small, ranging from a few thousand to tens of thousands of speakers, leaving many of them highly endangered.
Major Languages: The largest language by far within this specific branch is Mumuye, which has roughly 400,000 to 500,000 speakers in eastern Nigeria. Another notable language in this family is Tupuri, spoken by about 250,000 people.
