Carrier (Dakelh) is spoken in Canada, in central British Columbia, around Prince George, Fort St. James, Vanderhoof, and Burns Lake.
Carrier is a Northern Athapaskan language. It is endangered, with about 1,000 or more speakers, mostly older adults. In the 1880s the missionary Adrien-Gabriel Morice created a syllabic script for it, based on Cree syllabics.
