Ket (Yenisei-Ostyak)
Language Information
Ket is spoken in Russia, in the Krasnoyarsk region of Siberia, along the middle Yenisei River.
Ket is the last surviving Yeniseian language, with fewer than 100 speakers, mostly elderly. It has a complex system of tones and verb forms. Some linguists have proposed that Ket is related to the Na-Dene languages of North America, such as Navajo, though this is debated.
