Nyoro (Runyoro) is spoken in western Uganda, in the former kingdom of Bunyoro, around Hoima.
Nyoro is a Bantu language closely related to Tooro, Nyankole, and Kiga, with about 700,000 or more speakers. The Kingdom of Bunyoro-Kitara was one of the most powerful states of the Great Lakes region.
