Otomi is spoken in central Mexico, in Hidalgo (the Mezquital Valley), the State of Mexico, Querétaro, Guanajuato, and Veracruz.
Otomi is a group of closely related Oto-Manguean languages with about 300,000 speakers. The Otomi were among the earliest inhabitants of central Mexico.
