Gisu (Lumasaba) is spoken in eastern Uganda, on the slopes of Mount Elgon around Mbale.
Gisu is a Bantu language closely related to Bukusu of Kenya, with about 1.5 million or more speakers. The Gisu are known for their imbalu circumcision ceremonies.
