Kashubian is spoken in northern Poland, in Pomerania, west of Gdańsk.
Kashubian is a West Slavic language related to Polish, with about 100,000 speakers. It was recognized as a regional language of Poland in 2005 and is taught in schools. The novelist Günter Grass was partly of Kashubian descent.
