Paiute is spoken in the United States, in Nevada, Utah, Arizona, California, Oregon, and Idaho.
There are two separate Paiute languages, Northern Paiute and Southern Paiute, both Uto-Aztecan languages of the Numic group. Both are endangered, with a few hundred to a thousand speakers.
