Papiamento

Language Information

Papiamento is the native, though unofficial, language of the southern islands of the Netherlands Antilles—Curacao, Aruba, and Bonaire. A creole language with Spanish as its base, it contains numerous words from Dutch, English, Portuguese, French, and many other languages. There are about 200,000 speakers.

English translation

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
