Hiligaynon

Language Information

One of the Bisayan languages, like Cebuana and thus a member of the larger family of Austronesian languages, Hiligaynon is spoken on the Islands of Panay and Siparay in the Southern Philipines.

There are about 4,600,000 speakers of Hiligaynon.

Ang tanan nga tao ginbun-ag nga hilway kag may pag-alalangay sa dungog kag katarungan. Sila ginhatagan sang pagpamat-od kag konsensya kag nagakadapat nga magbinuligay sa kahulugan sang pag-inuturay.

English translation

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
