LaserTamil in Unicode for Windows(R) or Macintosh(R) provides professional-quality Unicode-encoded fonts in TrueType(R) OpenType(R) format, in plain, bold, italic, and bold-italic, for typing Tamil, plus English and other western European Latin languages. The TamilLSU and TamilSansU fonts include the complete Tamil section of the Unicode Standard, providing fonts that are fully compatible with other Unicode-encoded Tamil fonts. LaserTamil in Unicode includes a phonetic keyboard layout that provides four characters per key (instead of the normal two) for easy input of Tamil. The keyboard layout places the Tamil consonants, wherever possible, according to the sound of the English keys, and takes advantage of the OpenType layout features built into the fonts for logical, intuitive input. Consonant/vowel ligatures form automatically, and vowels position automatically as you type.
