Mwen Damou pou Vava in Haitian-Creole by Dany Laferriere
A wonderful story of a young boy (Vyezo) in Petit-Goave, Haiti. He plays with all the neighbors but have special attention for VAVA. He hopes one day to give Vava a ride on his bicycle. Vava is oblivious to the attention, plays, dances with all the friends which makes Vyezo tense and get a fever. His grandmother took care of the sickness but do not cure the heart.

Mwen Damou pou Vava has been nominated for the IBBY Honour List 2010 by the Haitian Section of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People) for the quality of its translation by Lyonel Trouillot. The French version of the book Je Suis Fou de Vava won the 2007 Governor General of Canada Award.
