Hebrew OCR OTIOT for Windows (ONLY ONE LEFT!)

OTIOTis a user friendly simple OCR program that accepts scanned image of printed Hebrew text and transforms it into an ASCII file for subsequent editing in any word processor (Word, QText, Einstein etc).

General Description:

OTIOTrecognizes texts printed with most fonts used in Israel for books, journals, office documents and newspapers.The texts can be scanned from within OTIOTby every TWAIN supported scanner.
The texts must be of relatively acceptable quality. The letters must be whole (not broken), letters set too close to each other can cause problems in process of recognition.Texts on colour or grey background, blemished pages e.g.with coffee spots etc. can be recognized if scanned properly.

OTIOT recognizes only Hebrew letters. In mixed Hebrew/Latin texts Latin letters will be replaced by (apparently similar) Hebrew letters or by a special sign ~ used to point out unrecognized letter. In other words, appropriate Hebrew texts for recognition by OTIOT are texts with low percent of Latin letters.

For mixed Hebrew / English texts you can use OTIOT PLUS program.
ASCII file produced by OTIOT can be used in most word processors (Word,Write, Einstein etc) working under Windows or DOS.
